Tonight we ate dinner at Zauo which is a fish restaurant. We sat down to order but instead of a menu we were presented with fishing rods. The kids excitedly cast their line into the moat like pool in the middle of the restaurant. Mac was a fast catch, pulling up a Sea Bream, which is the fish that all Japanese babies eat as their first food. And the boy babies are honored by eating the high protein eye ball. Mac ate it like a champ. (Actually I ate it to impress the 7 year olds.)
Ingrid, or should I call her Donna's Granddaughter, took more time to catch a fish. When she did pull one up it was a Striped Jack. That name didn't mean anything to us either until they weighed and calculated the price - 72,000 yen (72$US.) Ridiculous.
Side note, Striped Jack doesn't have a high protein eyeball.
